No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover

Whenever I get a £5 off skincare voucher at Boots I like to take advantage of the offer and try new products. Having finished my Vichy eye makeup remover (see review here), I decided to try out the No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover as I had heard such good things about it.

As you can see, the product is comprised of two separate liquids, the top being oil and the bottom being cleansing water. Shaking the bottle combines the two to produce a slightly bubbly liquid, which you then pour onto a cotton pad.  I find you do not have to use too much as a little goes a long way.

Firstly, the positives. I do like the packaging - it is very pleasing on the eye and it feels very sturdy. It claims to be hypo-allergenic and suitable for all skin types, which is great as it does not sting my eyes or dry my skin out. It also does a good job at removing my eye-make-up.

Unfortunately, I found this product to be far too oily for my liking. Every time I use it I am left with a greasy residue around the eye area, which is slightly uncomfortable. As I always remove my eye make-up first, this does disappear once I cleanse, however there are products out there that do just as good a job, if not better, and leave your eyes feeling nice and refreshed, not slimy. Sorry No7, this is one product I will not be repurchasing.

I have since learnt that Boots have changed the formula (previously known as Cleanse & Care) and it is actually the old version that a lot of people rave about.

What are your thoughts on this product?

  1. Those no7 vouchers persuade me to buy all sorts haha, I can't resist!
I once got this too and like you said it was too oily, which is a shame because I love the idea of a bi-phase make up remover xx

  5. I actually am a fan of this one, haven't found anything that works better on super-tough mascara and I'm convinced it's the oil that makes it so good!

I might have to give your Vichy one a go to compare :)

  7. I really like this! I find it really really effective for removing eye make up and don't mind the oiliness as I always cleanse afterwards and find that the oiliness washes off. I haven't find a non oily make up remover that removes waterproof mascara well!

Nice clear review though, I always enjoy reading other opinions!

  8. I don't use an eye make up remover, although I can use my mum's Estee Lauder one... Do you think you should use eye make up remover on basic every day eyes, or would normal fash wash suffice? Thanks :)
